Nicely done. In particular you have done a nice job with texture in the hair. Crayons can be a tricky medium, but totally rewarding once you play around with them.
Where I would like to see you push yourself is in your shading technique. It looks as though the shading in the face is done with either a black or grey crayon, and then everywhere else the shading is done by simply pressing harder on the crayon to make the color more vivid. But more vivid colors do not a shadow make, nor do they create depth. And black has a tendency to flatten space instead of push the eye back, if you know what I mean.
I think it would be really cool to see you bring in some deep, cool colors to push back the farther away areas, like the back of the collar, as well as the areas with cast shadows. Alternatively, using lighter colors for our highlights, instead of white or a lighter pressure will really make those areas pop.
Crayon is a funny medium, but it allows for some really neat color layering because of the nature of the wax. Have you tried layering colored pencils and crayons? Super fun. Really neat color combinations to be had.
Anyways, I think that overall you did a really nice job with this piece. And of course, the subject is awesome. Thanks for the opportunity to critique! Hope you are well and have a great day!
this is mind blowing. i know drawing realistic stuff is hard, and also coloring, but you did this entirely out of crayola and that is so surprising. you did a very good job with the coloring and with drawing the protrait. i love the colors you used, they reflect the personality and character of the joker. i think the only thing i see wrong are the eyes. the black color around his eyes seem too solid. but aside from that, i think you did a really god job. this portrait deserves a lot of attention. im positively sure that the colored pencil version would look just as good or even better
